There are huge delays for most EVs and many people are cancelling their orders.
Something to do with fish and chips according to some of the liars erm suppliers.

I’ve had a new Mokka-e on order since end of Feb; I was originally given an April delivery date and that’s gradually been pushed out by a few weeks until last week, when the expected date became 20 May.

in the last few days my dealer has told me that the date has been now changed to ‘awaiting date’, which, when pushed, they told me means a delay with a date suitable far out that they can’t give me a reliable indication yet. 😕

I ordered Mokka e on the 2nd of February was told 3/4 months yesterday I was told Xmas 2022 , I have a manufacturer order number but it is of little use, can’t access “tracking website “ just curious to know when the dealership ordered the car, but l have found out that Motability cars are at the back of the queue, no surprise there, 90% of the country think it’s a free car ! I would gladly have none of the excruciating pain of RA the uncertainty of having heart failure twice , I am now at the point of couldn’t give a flying **** about cars Motability or otherwise, it’s bad enough using a wheelchair and people talking to you like you are stupid, then the others when you park in a disabled car park space, oh look a free car, love those people so much their ankles are so vulnerable to wheelchairs,

I'm sure the dealerships concerned with this unfortunate situation are as frustrated as you, which hopefully will shortly improve.

If you were to order through the Vauxhall site it currently says 26 weeks*.
The * then says
Every vehicle on the Vauxhall Store is displayed with an anticipated delivery window. This is a forecast based on our current production capacity and is subject to change, but is included to give you an idea of when you could expect to receive your new Vauxhall. Please note - Vauxhall is impacted by temporary challenges in the global supply chain including certain component shortages. Unfortunately this means that some customers may experience significant delays to delivery. Working with the Vauxhall Retailer network, we will ensure all of our customers are kept up to date regarding the status of their new vehicle orders.

Interestingly the site also says, admittedly on the Mobility section-

For the latest information on your delivery date, we recommend contacting your local Vauxhall Retailer directly. All Retailer contact information can be found by using our Find a Retailer tool.

So who does know?

Just had a reply from dealer about my order on 29 March:
Everything is still looking ok for 31st July. I keep an eye on the dates every few days so if there are any updates I will let you know immediately.

Seems the dealer is the one in the know

What is shocking is that they won't say how many cars are in front of you.
There might be an exception where they slightly change the production line to make a batch of EVs but I imagine it should be first come first served despite certain dealers seemingly telling certain customers they are a priority.
I can see where someone might have wanted to save a few quid and ordered something below top of the range which Vauxhall have since pulled, they might be pushed back as the replacement order goes to the back of the queue but agsin that doesn't make a lot of sense. If the car hasn't got a build slot allocated to it then whatever changes you might make or have forced upon you, shouldn't affect your place in the queue.

Perhaps the dealers are asking the wrong question. Has your car got a build slot?
No yesterday, no today and no for the next 3 months.
How many vehicles are ahead of you will change daily and there is no reason why they can't say what the number is and how many cars will be built per day.

All I'm saying is you should perhaps guide the dealer into asking a better question and they might give you a more tangible answer.

When you look over the car and realise a lot is missing on the GS do not be afraid to reject it.
They should have upgraded you not downgraded.

Good luck.

Someone else has stated that they were downgraded to the GS.
I'm not clear what spec the SRi actually is.

Could you list everything you are expecting it to have over a basic model and hopefully we'll be able to determine what the differences are.
For example satnav, wheels, heated seats, heated steering wheel, phone charger, type of headlights etc

It's an odd thing to say, the manufacturer allocate a VIN when it's about to be built and the dealer would allocate the registration when they get the vehicle.
It could be they are taking a small risk and allocating a registration as soon as they hear the correct details are available
In any event, it looks like you'll be driving a new Mokka soon.

Most likely a misunderstanding by using the word registration instead of Vin.

Yes, probably the poster was misled by what the dealer told them.
My dealer not only allocated a registration he also taxed the car before it had arrived with them.
At my expense too.
