If you use the my vauxhall app on a smartphone to check for updates it allows you to send a link via email which you can use from the PC to download the PC based application.
If you then use the application to do the download it will prepare the USB stick with the correct formatting and decompress the files onto the stick.

That usually takes around 40 minutes to do when there's a software update but can take longer for map updates which force you to download everything then choose what you want during installation. So, it's stoooopid.

Try doing things that way and report back if you get stuck, I've not tried a USB2 stick as I already had sufficiently sized USB3 available.
Checking my own stick shows it needs to be FAT32.
Also note that there is a license file required for the software update, it's not required for maps but you can check what goes on the stick and make notes about what you find for future reference.

Morning all. I just got a new Mokka and the app tells me there's an update available, but clicking the link just takes me to a generic 404 "Oops Sorry. Something went wrong - let's try again." page. Anyone had any luck recently downloading this thing?

For Windows : Unexpected Error
For MAC : Unexpected Error
Look at the content of the link.
Where it says vauxhall_update you can edit that to say opel_update, I think they also swapped them round so you might consider whichever one you need to be the other link.

So for example if you want the installer for the PC you need the link that says vauxhall_update.exe but edit it to say opel_update.exe

Mac

PC

Before anyone gets concerned that they don't have an opel the explanation is that they have updated the software from version 1.1.1 to 1.2.1 possibly to take into consideration that the 1.1.1 version didn't allow downloads to resume.
Otherwise they have done nothing more than change the colour and clearly couldn't be arsed to release a UK version which would say Vauxhall.

HTH

I have been trying to do the updates for the software that the app is saying is out of date.... However, whenever I try doing the update it says I need to download a exe file. Where would I find that because the website and the app don't seem to have a direct route to the file so then I can do the actual downloads... Can you help?

Have you tried the links above or have they stopped working?

Hello,

We recently got the new Mokka 21 reg. When we have gone through the app, it says we have 2 software updates. When we have tried to download them it says we are missing the exe. file for the software to be downloaded with. I have gone through the Vauxhall website, the app and I am finding nothing. I don't suppose someone on here is able to help with where this file is located? Or even if someone has the file that wouldn't mind sharing it with me? It is so frustrating knowing there is an update that I literally can't get access to!

Any and all help is appreciated.

As per my previous reply to you.
The link you need which will download the application onto a PC or Mac which then in turn will download the update files and allow you write them to a suitable USB drive are in my post above.
Look at post number 63. About a dozen lines up from the bottom.
The links work but as you can see I had to alter them from what vauxhall provide.

Is it a PC you have or a Mac?

Assuming you are selecting the 64GB drive, it could be an issue with it, fake drive or formatting problems for example.

Try manually fornatting the drive as NTFS to see if you get errors.

It’s brand new from Asda store I’ve formatted it ..I thought the same thing before as I have dozens of old usb sticks so I went and brought a brand new one still no joy
Maybe the software is getting confused because of the size.
If you can unmount the other drive and make sure you are selecting the 64 then if it's still not working it might be worth trying a 32GB stick, I've never used anything larger than 32.
I'm assuming you are actually selecting the radio button and the error is legitimate rather than it somehow trying to continue without you selecting which drive to use.
To say their software is a bit flakey might be unkind. Accurate but unkind.

Looking at your first pic again it looks like you are not ticking the "yes, I understand" box.
Maybe their error checking is a bit off.

I would imagine then that something has gone screwy with the app or downloaded files.
It's a faff but in the phone app it'll allow you to send a link by email for the direct files which then need extracting and popping onto the drive manually but at least you'll get to check the sizes.

You could have an older version of the software in a download folder if the latest updater is giving you grief or perhaps not be on the latest. A few things to try but at least you're not waiting for the download to reach 95% after 22 hours only for it to bomb out with no chance to resume. That was last easter.

If anyone else is downloading the same thing maybe they could state if they have the same problem.

I bought a mokka-e in Turkey, it comes only in ultimate pack. We dont have access to the connection between the car and the mobile app like the preheating and checking the charging percentage. They say an update will come but no idea about if it will support these features or when it will be published. I want to know if is it possible for me to download the update you are using and access to these fatures. Thanks.

Hello,

I've been away for a while, but today I received a notification of an update for my Mokka-e, it was 5.88Gb, I transferred it and installed it in the car, I didn't see anything new in the update, we still don't have wireless Android Auto, we still have a "capped" 10" screen because only information appears in the center as if it were a 4:3 TV broadcast on a 16:9 TV, but the most amazing thing is that the version is dated 0/21/2023. In other words, I think that the software engineers at Opel/Stellantis should all be fired.

Has anyone here received this update, with the same number? I find this update strange, which brings nothing new, we were not provided with a changelog, nothing, Opel/Vauxhall asks for a lot of money for faulty services (Tomtom not prepared for electric vehicles) as well as apps like e-routes that depend on the cell phone that has to be connected to the car by cable, has to have a data service available and the redirection of trips is terrible, besides the update of the battery information being worse than using "A Better Route Planner" or even Tronity, in short, increasingly disappointed with the brand.

I have also recently installed the latest touchscreen firmware on my Mokka Ultimate Automatic petrol and was trying to find out what the update does. With pc or phone updates you usually get a 'what's new?' section to look at but there is no readily available information... A bit frustrating!
