I waited 9 months for mine after ordering. I wonder if all cars with this particular issue came from the same "batch" so to speak. Nobody at my local Vauxhall dealership seems to have any answers - only that they can't get a charger. What information have they given you on how to rectify yours? - I wonder if they've come to the same conclusion.

Our car was delivered in July last 2022 ordered in late January , my real issue is the lack of information coming from the dealer this can only lead me to surmise this is going to take months more to sort out.

Hi - Quick update - Got a phone call late yesterday afternoon to say my car is ready. Collected it this morning and all seems fine. They have put on a new OBC (on board charger) so hopefully I won't have this issue again. Good luck with your car.

Hey, just wanted to ask, was it the OBC that causes this issue? Now that you've had that part replaced, has it been working fine? Just asking since I'm purchasing a Corsa-e soon that has a new OBC being fitted.

Hi - Yes I had a replacement OBC fitted and I've had it back now for 4 weeks but been on holiday for 2 of those weeks. It has been working fine though - fingers crossed it will continue.

My OBC was replaced because it completely broke. Before and after the replacement, I had this issue, however, the car went in for a software update around 11,000 miles ago and touch wood, it hasn’t done it again since.

Hi, What is the on board charger? I got the traction control message this morn and recovery coming tomoz
As far as electric cars are concerned we have 2 ways of charging them.
One is to plug it into a charger which supplies a DC voltage and feeds the battery management system (BMS) to charge the batteries.
The second is to plug it into the wall or a similar power supply such as a podpoint at Tescos.
The car has a charger in it, in the case of the Mokka it has three which can connect together in clever ways to allow them to supply either 7.4 kW or 11 kW to the BMS.
The charger or group of chargers which are mounted in the car are referred to as on-board chargers or simply OBC.

If you charge from home you'll be plugging a cable into something fitted to you wall which is nothing more than a smart switch which feeds 240v to the car's charging socket which connects to the OBC which connects to the BMS so not much more complicated than charging a mobile khobe with the exception of the charger gets plugged straight into a wall socket for the phone rather than linking to it via a cable.

Well the fault in mine disappeared after a day, I left it a day as was out. The AA came and it just started. There were some faults recorded, HV related but nothing else. My car was in for a service 3 days later at Vauxhall and they had no idea what caused this. They did 2 recall software updates (3rd one failed) so will see how it goes. My colleague got an e-Mokka on the same day as me in Nov 22. This week his car showed the same fault. After 5 hours the fault cleared and the car would then start.
I would love to know if anyone gets a response from Vauxhall about a real fix for this.

It happened to me yesterday after DC fast charging (100KW). I stopped the car, waited for 15 mins, and restarted. The error was gone, and I drove another 400 miles without a problem. It is all about the heat wave and overheating of the batteries after fast charging.

I have noticed that several times you have suggested this as a solution to a problem. May I ask exactly what doing this dose/achieves please?

This issue just appears to me. 20k kilometers. No fast charging before the issue. Car just died, I was not even able to put a car into Neutral.
Waiting for Monday to go to a service

In the morning my car was towed to the dealer. And amazingly, the error has gone. I left it them for a day, to make a diagnostic. But looks like, as I can see through the app that my car is charging at the moment, they will return it to me today ( hope to receive more info about errors they've been able to find in the computer

A number of people are getting this fault and seeing that a 12v disconnection (essentially a reboot) allows them to use the car within 20 minutes, sooner if driven whilst it's still lobbing errors at you.

It seems to be happening more now and on cars that never exhibited it before.
I'm wondering if after an update some vehicles are just more susceptible to a weak battery or poor connection whereas it was more robust previously.

It would not hurt to check the leads are properly fitted onto the battery terminals and that the earth strap is firmly mounted to the bodywork. The live connection is quick release, this could even be a weakness as I have not heard of any Launch Editions having the problem. These predated the updated battery clamps but still have all the same updates newer cars have.
Could it be so simple as the quick release is a bit iffy and just needs to be released and reconnected a couple of times on a regular basis? I think it might be worth a try.

Update on the car. I took my car back yesterday. They've been checking it additional day and even made a test ride, about 50kms. But nothing.
Even they were not able to find any errors in the computer. They all have been gone.
So looks like I will face it quite soon in the future(

I’ve just bought a Mokka e… it’s only 2 and a half years old and it’s back at the dealership for the second time in two weeks with the electric traction fault message. They’ve already changed the 12v battery as they thought that was the issue but it broke down two days after I had it back. I bought the car from motorpoint, so I’m waiting to see what the dealer says, and then I may be returning it to motorpoint. It’s a pity thought, as I love the car… just feel uneasy driving it as its just stopped twice suddenly. Very dangerous 😢

Also had the same issue, took it to the dealer for them to only have done a reboot and for it to break down right outside the dealer. Now they are trying to change the onboard charger, very dangerous car no longer want to drive it!

It’s so scary. We started wearing a go- pro in the car 🙈. Extreme I know…. It actually broke down on a roundabout - just stopped again with no warning. The go- pro was mainly to prove there was a fault as Vauxhall said they couldn’t find a fault with the car. I took it back to Motorpoint as it was less than 30 days since I bought it… showed them the footage, and they took the car back. It’s a pity , as the car was lovely to drive when it was working, but I was always worried driving it.
