Right, I'll apologise if this is a load of tosh but hear me out.

Im picking up the Eric the Mokka (that's anothet thread) on friday and havethe FlexFit plus also a space Saver Wheel on order.

I have an email off the Dealer yeterday that said, he'd measured the 'available space' from the boot floor to the FlexFit and it was 110mm Deep. The Wheel is 110mm thick, so it won't seatin the well for the spare.

I know all this and will have the spare in the boot, but it begs the question, "Is this true"? and if so, can I have the wheel partly seated in the well in the boot?

I'm sure that if all this is true then something can be designed to work round this as 40mm isn't much of a thickness to be bothered about,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

HiB B funny name for a car (if that what Eric is) any way I have done the same have F F and bought a spare, owing to the space saverbeing thin tyred the wheel actually protudes and when you place it in the well that is there, it is to big for the cover to sit properly, however in one of theother threads on this subject someone was going to make a frame to sit around the boot and allow the cover to be stable. I thougt about it as it takes up abit of room but looking at the shape of the rear area it would mean the need to cut and reshape the cover to fit the angle of the rear seats,so I have decided to buy a wheel bag off anamazon dealer and secure the wheel in the back and make use of the space left under the cover to store other things like the wheel brace and jack etcetera. Do have a look through the threads to see if the person has said anymore on the subject . Great car S S strange at first but used to it now, really nice drive position and good vision.

When I ordered mine I wasn't given the option of a spacesaver but have since acquired one for free. As such my Mokka arrived fully carpeted in the back and as I cannot be 'arrised to cut anything out my spacesaver does not fit flush to the well so as far as I can tell then yes it can be partly seated as mine sort of is. It is secure of sorts in that it doesn't move around.

Apologies Guys, I've just re read my original post and the space from FlexFit to boot level is 150mm and the wheel is 110mm thick/wide so 40mm protrusion.
Didn't realise another thread was live with a work around. Will search later. Cheers

Hiya Bassa, yes the Name after much deliberation is Eric the Mokka. It's named after a certain Frenchman who is revered in my house. Having said that, the Missus will want to call it Alex after today's announcement as she is in shock.

Anyway, I'll also search for a wheel bag if my plan for a boot insert fails. Cheers.

The Spare space saver wheel I ordered is on backlog and is with the latest batch in Germany. they will be delivered in the 2nd week of June which is 3 weeks after we set of to France.

If I had a spare, I'd have no puncture, you can see where this is going can't you?

Le Repair kit at the ready.

I give in!!!!

Cheers Bassa, I must have missed that bit of info about the Insignia. the dealer did email me last yesterday saying they have done some digging for alternatives and 2 Space Savers are coming in tomorrow that may fit mine. They will try them out on another Mokka for me.

I will try a local Vauxhall specialist near workin Garstang that I've been told about if I don't get a favourable result tomorrow Edited by: Bandage_Boy
