The reviews can be as many stars as they want to give, this will never change my opinion of the Crossland -- don't like, don't want, so no interest whatsoever in anything Peugeot

Funny though that as soon as it's no GM they get a lot kinder to Vauxhall.

The gave the Pug 2008 on which the Crossland is based four stars, it might have looked a bit 'suss' had they scored it lower.

Prior to buying the Mokka we test drove a number of different brands including the pug 2008 auto, it was our shortest test drive ever, after five minutes of hopping and jerking we left the dealership laughing and wondering how they ever sold any, a higher rating than a Mokka?

fools!

Exactly my feelings about my last Mokka and the Mokka X i have, love it to bits until recently

I suggest you test drive vehicles to satisfy yourself or you will regret it, and not just go off other
people's opinions and advice, it is all about what you like and want, and what suit's your needs,as
what suit's other's may not suit you.
So while i am here i will update you on what i am doing, albeit under the Grandland, thread Oop's

I have started fishing again after a long lay off and when i came to put the back leather seat's down
i got the shock of my life, i have never seen such bad design in my life, not having needed to
do it in my last Mokka or this one up too now, you have to push both front seats forward to lift the
rear bases up far enough to drop the backs, then push the front seats back, and guess what,
at 6'-4'' i can't get in the driving seat, as the front seat won't go back due to rear seat's, don't
believe me try it,, unless your short, it is useless, very upset, my fault for not checking, before
purchase,

So the Mokka X is going, and i am Buying an auto, i have had a lot in the past, and test drove
quite a few auto's and don't want a ''CVT'' or ''Diesel'' what i have in mind,,may shock you all

Although i criticised the manual gearbox on the Crossland X, and said i wouldn't have a Peugeot,
they now have an Aisin/warner autobox, ex borg warner, fitted to the Crossland which i believe is
fitted to a lot of other makes also, the eat 6, which is 6 speed and an absolute peach of a box to
drive, coupled to the 110 bhp balance weight 1.2 petrol motor, which is very nippy, [as i found
last time i drove it] I was quite surprised with this set up the box is so smooth and the car bigger
inside and more practical than the Mokka,, for me
No messing with the Crossland seat's they go straight down with the front seats fully back and more
leg room than the Mokka and all the bells and whistles too,

The economy seems very very good so have taken my blinkers off eaten my words and will take my
Chance and expect criticism, but i am having a Pugall or vauxgeot, i like the practicality for me over
the Mokka, and did when i first drove it other than the 5 speed box,

So fire away guy's,,,,,It arrives Sept 25th Elite Nav White with black roof and quite a few extra's

Don't quite understand the seat issue, isn't the only thing stopping the seats going back further the headrests? After taking the rear seat headrests off the seat will go back too far for me (5'11)

Personally I wouldn't consider a PSA Vauxhall but certainly wouldn't knock anybody else for their choice and hope it serves you well.

I have long legs, and 6'-4'' taking the headrests off which i have done, it is still a struggle to get
my foot on the clutch, as the pedal is much higher than the brake pedal, on all the manual's,
why i don't know but it is, I do have my seat fully back Try it on a manual it's not good,

Thanks

Fair enough, didn't realise the clutch pedal was higher than the brake, not owned a manual car for a very long time, maybe get to try a courtesy Mokka when ours goes in for service in a few weeks, but more likely to be a Corsa again. Good luck!

@DSM

I know what you mean about the seats.

Taking off the headrests and faffing around with the seats was a PITA even with a Mokka auto as the brake pedal is significantly higher than the accelerator.

Enjoy your new motor and as someone who has never really been taken by 'teaching a worm to swim' (i.e. fishing) I hope that you catch a biggun or two.

Thank's Nigel. spot on with the seats, and far less leg room, for my long legs i find the fishing
very relaxing, i don't need a bigger car, just something more user friendly and better laid out
inside due to getting less supple, that's where the auto comes in also, and very economical too,
Hope your enjoying your Kuga, and it is living up to your expectations

Why criticise someone who has seen the wood through the trees, decided to follow his heart and judgment.
Good luck and hopefully all will be for the best.

@wellinever

Thank you very much for your comment's, The Mokka X i have is gorgeous and unmarked and
only 4500,miles, an absolute beauty, my baby, i think i am mad , but seriously, the Crossland X
beat's it hands down for room and practicality, inside, same dashboard, as the Mokka also, only
time will tell with the engineering, but it has a 3 year warranty the one i tested drives well,
very economical and very nippy, and a less firm ride and smooth box, hope mine is the same
I will keep you honestly informed of how it goes,,, great bunch of people on here,

As for Bro Leo's comment about whatever turns you on, i don't think you realise, to put the rear Leather
seats, down, flat you have to lift the rear seat bases up and forward and have to push the front seats
so far forward, to do so, when the front seat's are then pushed back as far as they will go, my knees are
nearly touching the dash board, and have trouble operating the high clutch pedal, my legs are very long,
in fact, i struggle getting my left knee under the steering wheel to get out, or i lift the column every time
to get out, not practical at all. Do a before and after and measure the front seat fully back from the floor
where i have it to drive, then put the seat's down and measure it, again you will be surprised, you can get
a touch more room messing about trying to remove the headrests which doesn't give you much extra
Not the case in the Crossland, Many other's do not have enough leg room for me either, and i didn't want
a bigger car so it was a challenge to find what would fit the bill,
I cannot drive it like that it's dangerous, so while i'm changing and getting older and the traffic
congestion i might as well have an auto, again, I have always liked how the Mokka look's, you
can mistake the Crossland X for a Mokka, at the front at distance, but no where else, look inside
it's like the Tardis, I am Not, Knocking the Mokka i love it, don't forget i have had 2, but i am not
prepared to forgo my hobby when i can do something about it,, it being a small amount of cash
to change, i like the look of the Crossland as i said when i criticised the 5 speed box and it being
part Peugeot, i have test driven a lot of makes and for friends for a second opinion, but settled for
this, whether i will regret the peugeot / Vauxhall joint venture time will tell, but all seem's good
at the moment

At the end of the day, if you have found the 'right' car then it's the 'right' car for you.

Irrespective of the opinions of others and whatever is going on with PSA/GM if you have done the 'legwork' and polished a few seats before making your choice then I wish you many thousands of miles of happy motoring.

I can't criticise anyone, I've just bought a Diesel! (PS absolutely the right car for me:wink:).

Wellinever -- you have made the right choice as the crossland suits your needs better than the mokka -- enjoy your new toy and my "whatever turns you on " comment was not meant to be critical I was implying that if it turns you on its the motor for you
