The M32 6speed has changed a lot since it was fitted to the Astra H Vxr with its inability to take the power with oil starvation to sixth gear and chocolate bearing which after a certain mileage whining like a banshee -- the mokka fitted with the M32 will have the modified casing and Timkin bearings which are up to the job - and not forgetting the enlarged oil feeds in the casing -- with the amount of power produced by the mokka I can't see there being a problem under normal driving and 6th gear now gets enough lubricant at motorway speeds -- the Vxr boys on the early boxes used to use Millars EP gearbox oil but put in 3xltrs instead of the standard 2.4 ltrs to allow oil splash to 6th -- none of this is needed on the modified factory boxes which should give thousands of miles of trouble free motoring but having said that there is always the rogue box that crop up now and again

i had the m32 in my gtc, week after i bought it, noticed a whine in 3rd and 4th, had all new bearings fitted at 11500 mile, drove home and whine still there, fast forward to june and had a gearbox specialist sit in with me, soon as i got into 3rd and 4th he said "thats not gearbox, thats crownwheel to pinion mismatch and will run for ever" he also said vauxhall used to fill with 2.8 litres of oil, then reduced to 2.3 and then dropped it to 1.8 litres due to people complaining about hard gear changes when cold,
he said fill it to 2.8 litres and change it every year and the m32 will run for ever,
just use the gm oil which is gold coloured, so planning on doing my box when i get the mokka on wednesday,
did notice though that the m32 in the mokka is far superior to the gtc and only 300 mile between them, only difference is m32 in gtc is close ratio and mokka is wide ratio,
sorry for being a long post

i was told by gearbox expert just to use the genuine gm oil but stick more in as vauxhall only fill with 1.8 litres, the gearbox man said it will take 2.8 litres easily
