Put my new alloys on today with vredestein wintrac 3 winter tyres.
Really impressed with level of grip. Went up a snowy incline no problem.
Other cars getting stuck. Couldn't afford 4x4 but this is the next best thing.

What a size are the tyres as I did a search and can't find the 215/55 18s made by vredestein?

there 17" wheels with equivalent tyres. only 0.6% difference.
Bought as a complete package online £850 inc delivery balanced and locking wheel nuts included.
im only going to use them for approx 3 months of the year.
18" wheel/tyre combo was far too dear and i think the 17s look ok for how long im going to use them for.

Looks good. I would have liked to get some winter tyres but it a lot to shell out. I also looked at getting some snow socks but couldnt find a set to fit.

I think thats the tyre size Lee. Had a look on http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculatorand it says only 0.58% reduction of size from a 215 55 r18.

To what torque setting did you tighten the nuts? does anybody have the correct figure from Vx?

Cool, that sounds about the difference when I was looking at that size on a couple of other sites.Be interested in the torque figure as well.
