Should be no need to check, minimum warranty is 6 Months by law, but then there will always be the "that's not covered" quibbles.

Oh dear, that's my button snapped off as well now. As you say, it seems you need to replace the whole lever. I'm happy to do that if I can buy one but can anybody tell me how. I do have a garage manual but it seems to cover everything except the handbrake lever!!!

Looks like a new one off Ebay will set you back £93.70 no idea how that compares to dealers?

If not too fussy about the chrome finish look, a 3D printed button can be bought on ebay.
The 3D file can also be printed at home if you have a 3D printer, or sent to one of the many online 3D print services.
I have no printer myself, and can not verify if the button fits. But I have attached a 3D print file if anyone wants to have a go.

Yes as above, but never had any issues with mine -- what comes to mind is a article I read a few years ago relating to mokka hand brake buttons braking and it was put down to the fact that people were not releasing correctly -- they were pressing the button to release the handbrake without firstly lifting the lever slightly first to release tension on the button

I just bought a second hand 65 plate and left it parked on a hill. I sat in the car for a couple of minutes before getting out and it felt fine we also looked back at the car as it was the first time my friend had seen it. The dash cam shows that after 10 minutes it started to roll back. I was very lucky because it rolled onto some grass that slowed it and stopped it hitting a lamppost.

I've seen a couple of similar stories on here about the handbreak so just wanted to share mine. The advice seems to be to leave it on reverse and keep the wheels turned in when facing down a hill and leave it in first and front wheels facing out if parked facing up a hill. Is that right?

It is always advisable to leave Any car parked on a hill in gear,
it used to be advised on the driving test many years ago

Look on EBay you can buy a metal replacement and spring
for about £8 you need to remove the small broken pieces from your hand brake, there is also a you tube video showing how to do the replacement.

I have just joined. Proud owner of a Mokka 2015.
I just took it to my local vauxhall garage due to the hand break button broken. They want to charge me £380 to replace the hand break. I can see you can get a replacement metal button for £15. Does it work?
