Hi there!

My engine cooling fan often stays stuck on leading to complete battery drain.

As sods law would dictate this never happens in the garage so they say nothing is wrong.

I heard it could maybe be a stuck relay. I jumped the car this morning and the fan was on immediately so I started tapping all the relays in the engine fusebox compartment.

Once I tapped RLY 6 the fan stopped.

I'm trying to identify exactly what this relay does. Diagrams don't make it clear exactly what it is and the closest identification I can get is "intelligent battery sensor" which may not be correct.

Can anyone shed any light on this relay? It's the darker grey relay bottom right corner of the photo marked as GM and 3760.

Any ideas if this is the cause or am I on a red herring.

Thank you for any input.

It could also be the radiator thermostat fan switch sticking, or the Air con
bringing it on

Hi thanks for the reply.

Yes I'm aware it could be a few things but it's strange how it went off when tapping the relay. The engine was fully cold, no air con was on.

I'm just trying to find a description or list of things that RLY 6 controls, specifically if it has any input on the engine Fan.

Anyone know?

Thank you.
I'm just literally trying to find out what that relay does. I can't find mention of it anywhere...or what it controls...or any wiring diagrams.
