Has anyone else had problems with the central locking and alarm. Again today, it seems to have worked all day and then I've just pulled up on my drive and nothing. Pressing the key button and nothing happens. Have checked the manual and followed the instructions but nothing. I wouldn't have thought the key fob battery has gone dead yet!

Not suffered with this problem - Have heard that if you live near a mobile phone mast this can sometimes affect car remote controls??? think a trip to the dealers might be in order

yes.. mine has done it twice now, also wouldn't start after leaving key in ignition (turn off) at petrol station. I have it in the Garage today for a check up.
I also tried the spare and that didn't work... if you haven't got it sorted yet will let you know once I get the car back later.

Hi, Well I got my car back yesterday, and they believe the problem to be in the key fob, have a new one on order. something to do with the immobiliser!! anyway will see how its goes... Other than a little hitches, the car is brilliant, have had it from beginning of December 2012.

Happened to me once just after i got it. Was parked in London opposite a police station bristling with antenna and I guess there was a bit of interference. No problems since.

Parked outside my house and never had an issue until tonight. Remote won't work unless less than 1 metre from car and in line of site of the dashboard, for both keys. Going in for annual service next week so will query then.

Have a bit of a problem with the central locking at the moment, the doors would not open with either key when the car is right up to the house on the drive. Called out the mobility breakdown and he moved the car out onto the road, all okay there and just on the end of the drive but still plays up close to the house. He said that there is probably interference from somewhere, someone's doorbell or wi-fi (next doors son has just moved back home and he is an IT specialist, he has set up a new wi-fi system in the house which Debbie says has caused all sorts of problem's). The Meriva B we had last had no such problems and that had identical keys. We have really badmobile phone reception here so it can't be a mast close by. The breakdown man said it could even be a short in an underground cable or a magnetic field from an underground cable but that would have affected the Meriva.Has anyone else had or sorted this type of problem? what was the outcome of your problem arst06d?

The frequency used is usually 433.92Mhz.....so wont be Wifi as that's 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz.
Only other common items in that range tend to be cheap remote devices like door bells and garage door openers, none of which continually transmit so should not be a problem

wireless security devices run at that 433mhz frequency, and do get flakey on low battery. Also outdoor wireless weather stations also use 433mhz.

None of these constantly transmit though, there only short bursts or when something is detected so should not have a major impact on a similar burst of a remote (unless you are continuously very unlucky)

wireless weather stations also use 433mhz. These constantly transmit, to a PC linked to internet.but only over 30 mtrs. I have one.

I removed my weather station (which has been in use for over a year and never affected my Meriva or the Mokka for the first couple of weeks),moved the Mokka back to its usual position near the house and it worked fine. Will check again tomorrow.
