Hi all,
I bought a 2014 Vauxhall Mokka 4x4 turbo in March, and it all was all running fine for a couple of weeks whilst I was driving to and from work. Not a long distance maybe 15 minutes each way. I thought the car was great, a real nice drive. First time I had spent a decent amount of money on a car so was really happy with it.
Then I was furloughed for a 2 1/2 months. I did use my car during this time, but no where near as often. I started back at work middle of June and soon after this my battery died. I charged it up over night and it lasted for a couple of days. Then died again. As the battery was the original in the car I thought it was probably just the case of getting a new one. Once the new battery was in it lasted again for about 5 days to a week. Then I had exactly the same issue.
I took my car to a garage who thought it may have been a couple of things, but nothing seemed to work. Eventually they disconnected the entire dash (Speed gauge etc as well as radio and electrics.) This then allowed me to drive without having to charge my battery.
Obviously I couldn't keep doing this as I had to rely on a speedo on an app on my phone. So when the car went back in, the mechanic still couldn't figure out where the point of the problem is.
My car then went to a Vauxhall garage to get checked over there. They kept it for 2 weeks and told me that they found no problems with it, and that the car started every time they tried it. I don't necessarily believe this as now the battery is going flat within 24 hours of a full charge.
Please can someone tell me that I'm not the only one who has had this problem, and that it is fixable.

If anyone knows any good mechanics that specialise in electrics in the Leicester/Northampton are please let me know.
Thanks,
MichaelF
